Wayback Burgers - Review

I’m wayyy up I feel blessed…

Wayback Burgers is the grown-up version of Five Guys. The burgers are big, smashed, juicy, and have unlimited toppings. However, unlike Five Guys, it looks like the staff at Wayback cares how the burger looks when it comes out to you. It’s not a messy burger, it stands upright in the tray all tall and sexy. Glistening beef patties are adorned with four slices of melted American cheese squished between two butter buns. Essentially a grilled cheeseburger I added grilled onions, mushrooms, jalapenos and mayo. There’s something so liberating about having free toppings. I mean there are some toppings that cost money like bacon…but grilled onions for free ain’t too shabby. The burger I had was the Cheeeesy Burger. That’s 4 e’s for the 4 slices of American cheese and every piece tasted like heaven.

Accompanying my burger were the Cajun Tots. They weren’t as spicy as I hoped but they were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. For this meal, I also ordered 1LB of Buffalo Wings. These were pretty standard wet wings and didn’t stand out as much as my burger. Was hoping these wings were a bit thicker.

Earlier I mentioned Wayback being a grown-up version of Five Guys and it’s true. Looking at the decor of the restaurant, TV for sports, and alcohol….it’s definitely a spot to come and relax after work. Kick your shoes off and watch the Oilers, grab a beer and burger that is sure to satisfy.
