Uccellino
This place is great. The interior is so bright an minimalistic, and the food is on point. It’s a departure from the dark and drab Italian restaurants, this modern take is well done. Whenever i’m here it’s a crostini, gnocchi and wine. The menu rotates every few months and it’s always worthwhile to go.
Zwick’s Pretzels
Zwick’s makes the best pretzels period. The may arguably have the best sandwiches in Edmonton. Everything is made fresh in house and it shows. My go to is the salmon sandwich, mllk dusted nubs with chocolate dip or beer cheese. Also the orange cream soda is pretty refreshing. Ever since they asked me to be on “Big Food Bucket List” on Food Network, there’s been long lines on the weekend. Lol nah they’ve always been busy.
Kobachi
The only sushi suggestion i’ll ever give in confidence. It’s in Sherwood Park but it’s definitely worth the drive. They prepare sushi here in ways that any sushi restaurant simply does not do. I highly suggest getting the chirashi bowl to experience everything they have. Don’t miss the real crab california rolls as well. Then you’ll realize you’ve been sold fake crab your entire life.
La Patrona
I’m learning spanish and La patrona translates to “really fucking good”. It’s facts. Mexican food here might be the most authentic i’ve had other than Kelowna. Tacos are great, tortas are better. I’m lactose intolerant and will still get the Queso Fundido. Worth It.
Fox Burger
I was introduced to Fox Burger a year and a half ago. Never thought I’d put anything this juicy and meaty in my mouth ever. Phrasing. These are the best burgers in town and was scared it may close once Covid hit. However, they said that takeout orders were booming and I was happy they’d stick around because the rooftop patio is nice for the summer. They got a huge selection of craft beer, but nothing hits like a nice Annex Root Beer with Fried Pickled Green Tomatoes and any of the burgers.
